Nepal - April 2015
On our way to Nepal!
Flying into Kathmandu
The lobby of our hotel and our cool room!
No traffic lights here!
Durbar Square in front of the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. Less than a week after we
visited, some of the buildings in this square collapsed from a magnitude 7.9 earthquake that hit the region.
Little Man always amusing the locals
Swayambhunath Temple - also known as monkey temple because of the holy monkeys that inhabit it. This
temple sits on top of a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. We made the climb just before dusk and it was
a beautiful sight! Some structures around the temple / stupa were also damaged in the earthquake.
Spinning the prayer wheels around the stupa
I can never resist a good monk photo!

On our way to India, we decided to spend a couple of days in Kathmandu, Nepal. We loved this city
with its friendly people, amazing historical sites and beautiful stupas (dome-shaped Buddhist
shrines). We packed alot into our short visit but definitely left wishing we had time to see more.
