India - April 2015
Little Man getting into the action - see his photos here!
Our guide knew all the cool photo tricks (see the
reflection?) and took some great photos of us!
It had to be done!
Under renovation, but that didn't stop us!
The Taj Mahal is completely symmetrical so
it looks the same from every side
Wide angle shot!
Actually the entire grounds surrounding the Taj Mahal are also symmetrical
and includes a mosque and it's mirror image, a guest house.
We have always wanted to visit India and while our time here was short, seeing the Taj Mahal was a must! Located in Agra,
about a 3.5 hour car ride from Delhi, the Taj Mahal is truly a sight to see. Completed in 1643 on the south bank of the
Yamuna river, the Taj Mahal was commissioned by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his wife, Mumtaz
Mahal. The tomb is the centerpiece of a 42 acre complex which also includes a mosque, a guest house and formal gardens.
