| On the morning of the earthquake, I visited this little chef and bought a set of new dishes. Delivery was set up for the next day between 12 - 2 p.m. Just as scheduled, the delivery man brought the dishes to our door promptly at 12:00 p.m. |
| This is where Mom was standing during the earthquake. It was a scary sight watching the two cranes on top of the building at the end of the street sway back and forth. It's truly amazing they didn't fall down. |

| A much darker and quieter city after the earthquake |
It's difficult to summarize the month of March into a small paragraph for our website. The first few
weeks were quite normal for us; we enjoyed the beautiful spring weather and were very much looking
the northeastern coast of Japan. What we've felt since has been a mix of emotions. On one hand, we
were thankful to be safe and reunited so quickly after the earthquake. Of course, we can't stop thinking
about those who were not so fortunate. As we return to our regular, day-to-day schedule, it saddens
us to think about the people who have lost their loved ones, their homes, their communities and so
much more. The small disruption to our life the past three weeks is nothing compared to what the
people hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami are dealing with now and will be for weeks, months
